Logo Contest

Anybody interested in opening a "LOGO contest" for our association?? We could ask the grad students and post docs to come up with a logo for the GSPDA to be placed on our wiki webpage for now. Just a frivolous idea.

2009-2010 Graduate Fellowship Program

We have added the poster to the web site announcement about the 2009-2010 graduate fellowship program, both on the SURA site [1] and on the JSA site [2]. Additionally, e-mail notices have been made to the members of the JSA Programs Committee (list of these individuals at [3] as well as the physics department chairs of the SURA member universities. Please feel free to make any additional distribution you deem necessary and let me know if I can be of assistance.

JLab Graduate Student Picnic

Call for Proposals for FY2010 Initiatives Fund Projects

The FY2010 Initiatives Fund deadline is Monday, August 17, 2009. Information on the submission process is available at http://www.jsallc.org/IF/CP10.html. To ensure adequate time for the UGBoD to review user proposals, please email the proposal (summary sheet, budget proposal, etc.) to meziani@temple.edu by Friday, August 7, 2009.

2010-2011 Graduate Fellowship Program

JSA Accepting Applications for Academic Year 2010-2011 Graduate Fellowships at the Jefferson Lab. Each fellowship will provide the awardee's home institution with a stipend equal to up-to-half of a normal academic year (~9 months) research assistant stipend. The awardee's home institution must agree to match at least half of the research assistant stipend from institutional or research funds. An additional $2,000 supplemental stipend is provided to the awardee's home institution for the graduate student. JSA also will reimburse up to $2,000 for the awardee's research-related travel subject to the approval of his/her advisor.
