* All nominees must be within 5 years of graduation, and in a postdoc or equivalent position at the time of nomination. You do not have to be an experimental postdoc working at a university to apply, JLab and theory postdocs are also eligible to apply. Previous winners are not eligible to apply.

Criteria for selection include: a strong academic record, demonstrated experimental expertise, an ability to drive and take responsibility for projects and a solid peer-reviewed publication record. 2011 JSA Thesis Prize

The UGBoD expects to award the "2011 JSA Thesis Prize" for the best Jefferson Lab related thesis at the summer Users Group meeting, scheduled June 04- 06, 2012 . Please consider nominating people who have defended during 2011.

  • Please send Lorelei Carlson (lcarlson at jlab.org) a brief nomination, giving the name and

institution of the person being nominated and the names of three people who will send letters of recommendation, along with a copy of the thesis, preferably electronically.

  • All materials must be received by Tuesday, January 31, 2012.

The prize is sponsored by JSA and includes a $2200 award with an invitation to give a presentation on the candidate's thesis subject at the 2012 summer meeting.
